THE CLARITY STORY

Clarity Started With Our Son.

We were searching for answers after seeing our son struggle with symptoms that looked like ADHD.

Everyday routines had become a daily struggle for our whole family:

  • Difficulty following multiple directions
  • Difficulty completing everyday routines
  • Taking an unusually long time to get dressed
  • Frustration — for both our son and our family

In our search for answers, we discovered Eye Lux light therapy, developed by Dr. Steve Curtis. Our son's initial experience included 12 days of in-office sessions (two 30-minute sessions per day, 24 total), followed by 18 days of home therapy (two 20-minute sessions per day). We noticed changes during the very first week.

“It was like I had a fog in my brain and I couldn’t get through it, but the fog is gone.”
— Our son, age 13

That experience changed our family — and inspired Clarity.

WHAT IS CLARITY?

An innovative, education-first approach.

Clarity is focused on innovative light-based therapy and education, designed to support individuals and families exploring a clearer path forward.

Light

Explore how targeted light-based approaches are being studied for neurological and nervous-system applications.

Pathways

The brain and nervous system communicate through incredibly complex networks. Clarity focuses on approaches intended to support healthy neurological function.

Possibility

Every individual is different. Our goal is to help families understand options and make informed decisions.

WHO WE SERVE

Who Comes to Clarity?

Families come to Clarity for many different reasons. Each area below links to educational content — Clarity does not diagnose or claim to treat these conditions, and does not replace medical care.

Clarity does not replace diagnosis or conventional medical care. Each area above is intended to be developed into a full educational page — what it is, what researchers currently understand, where light-based therapy research stands, and what remains unknown — before publishing.

HOW IT WORKS

A simple, four-step process.

1

Discover

Start with a conversation. Understand goals, concerns, history, and current challenges.

2

Experience

Participate in an individualized Clarity program utilizing light-based therapy.

3

Continue

When appropriate, continue the recommended program at home.

4

EXPLORE THE SCIENCE

What is MST (Multi-Sensory Training)?

MST is a technique that engages the brain's multisensory processing — the ability to filter, modulate, and integrate input from multiple senses at once. It combines specific frequencies of colored light, vestibular (motion) stimulation, auditory stimulation, and somatosensory (touch) input delivered simultaneously in a controlled clinical setting. It is not an infrared or laser-based therapy.

What We Know

MST was developed by Dr. Steven J. Curtis, OD, whose 2019 outcomes research reported that a majority of parents observed meaningful improvement in their child, and that post-concussion patients showed symptom improvement within 38 days of starting the program, based on standardized symptom surveys. Separately, researchers at the University of Miami's Department of Otolaryngology (Minesinger et al.), working with Dr. Curtis, presented preliminary findings on a related multisensory approach (PNRT) in patients with mild-to-moderate traumatic brain injury, using objective eye-tracking and balance measures rather than symptom surveys alone. Several participants showed measurable shifts toward normal ranges after a course of sessions.

What We Don't Know

This is early-stage research. The University of Miami study involved 7 participants, and the researchers themselves state the improvements did not hold up under statistical correction for multiple comparisons at that sample size, describing the findings as hypothesis-generating rather than proof of effect — they call for larger, adequately powered trials. The outcomes research is largely developer-authored and has not yet been independently replicated by unrelated research groups. Neither study establishes how MST performs for every condition families may be exploring it for.

Questions to Ask

Families considering MST can reasonably ask: What does the published research actually measure, and in what population? How will my family's progress be tracked and compared to a starting baseline? How does this fit alongside my existing medical care and providers?

FAQ

Common Questions

What is Clarity?

Clarity provides innovative light-based therapy and education for individuals and families exploring support for neurological, cognitive, behavioral, and nervous-system-related challenges.

What is Eye Lux, and who developed it?

Eye Lux is the light-based therapy system used at Clarity, developed by Dr. Steve Curtis.

What happens during a Clarity session, and how long is it?

The initial in-office program consists of two 30-minute sessions per day over 12 consecutive days (24 total sessions).

Is there an at-home program?

Yes. Following the in-office program, most individuals continue with an 18-day home program of two 20-minute sessions per day.

Can children and adults both participate?

Clarity works with both children and adults; an individualized program is discussed during your consultation.

Does Clarity diagnose ADHD or any other condition?

No. Clarity does not diagnose any condition and is not a substitute for a qualified medical evaluation.

Does Clarity replace medication, therapy, or a physician?

No. Clarity is designed as a complementary approach alongside, not a replacement for, conventional medical care.

Are results guaranteed?

No. Individual experience varies, and outcomes are never guaranteed.

How much does the program cost?

The initial program is $4,000, with a payment plan available. Contact Clarity for current details.
